Pensacola International Film Festival

The 5th annual Pensacola International Film Festival kicks off Friday October 26th in downtown Pensacola. The festival begins with a free outdoor screening and continues the rest of the weekend at the Gulf Breeze cinema. As always, the finest films from around the world will be assembled for a weekend of movie going unrivaled at any other time of the year.

This year, the festival will feature two award-winning films entirely shot in the Greater Pensacola area. The festival will open with the controversial documentary "Lillie and Leander: A Legacy of Violence" and close with the premiere screening of the outrageous British comedy "Permanent Vacation."

Give yourself over to the power of the moving image to take you around the world and into the lives of others. See the world through the lens of the world's premiere story tellers all over a single weekend.

Local photographer Howard Robinson, Izon Models and Talent, and Birdwell Photography and Multimedia contributed to this year's poster design. It will be on sale for $10 throughout the event.

2007 Pensacola Film Festival to Award Scholarship

The Pensacola International Film Festival will be awarding the Sara Fuller Scholarship to a deserving University of West Florida student at the free public screenings in Plaza Ferdinand on Saturday, Oct. 27. The University of West Florida will select the recipient from the school of fine arts and the awards ceremony will take place before the public screenings at 7:30 p.m.

Permanent Vacation Trailer

Premiering at the Film Festival: "Permanent Vacation." This film was 100% shot in the Pensacola area, starring David Carridine and the biggest stars of the British cinema. Based on the popular novel "What We Did On Our Holidays", the film is a jet black comedy about a British family on holiday in Florida. They encounter a wild menagerie of local characters and, in a typical British fashion, "go native". Directed by W. Scott Peake and crewed by area production professionals, "Permanent Vacation" is a film not to miss.

The 5th annual Pensacola International Film Festival will take place October 26 – 28, 2007. Once again, for those wishing to enjoy movie watching outside, catch the FREE movie premieres at 7:30 p.m. nightly on the jumbo movie screen outside the T.T. Wentworth building.
